RE Letter Of Assurance Academic Year 2025/26
Compass Forest School confirms that for the academic year 2025/26 it operates in full compliance with;
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE),
Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006
Other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements concerning the safe recruitment and deployment of adults working with children and young people.
All Crew who have contact with, or unsupervised access to, children in any educational or community setting are subject to comprehensive pre-employment vetting.
Furthermore ongoing safeguarding oversight in accordance with KCSIE 2025, Part 3 (Safer Recruitment), ensure their continued suitability.
Before commencing work, every Crew member has completed the following:
Identity verification, in person, using original documents.
Enhanced DBS check, including a Children’s Barred List check (renewed every 3 years or monitored via the Update Service).
Verification of qualifications and professional registration (where applicable).
Employment history review and investigation of any gaps in employment.
Two satisfactory references, including one from the most recent employer.
Prohibition and sanction checks, where relevant to role.
Overseas criminal record checks (where applicable) and risk assessment.
Satisfactory health declaration confirming fitness to work with children.
Safeguarding and child protection training at Level 2 or above, with regular updates and supervision.
All Crew receive safeguarding induction and are required to comply with Compass Forest School’s Safeguarding and Whistleblowing Playbooks.
Including the prompt reporting of any low-level concerns or allegations. Compass Forest School maintains a Single Central Record documenting all required vetting checks.
Information is retained only as necessary, in compliance with the DBS Code of Practice, UK GDPR, and the school’s Data Protection Policy.
No individual is permitted to engage in regulated activity where any vetting outcome indicates unsuitability to work with children.
